It is better to start playing soccer at an early age. Kids can start playing competitively by around 8 years of age. When the child is between 6-7 years of age, they are able to handle learning the fundamentals of soccer. They can also start doing basic soccer drills and so on. So, by the time they are 8, they will be able to compete.
